As we reach the midpoint of 2025, I have been reflecting on my life experiences. I have reflected on how my life experiences have affected me both positively and negatively, and I have taken bold steps to make decisions that I hope will greatly benefit my personality.
Oftentimes, we live a very careless lifestyle. Sometimes, a whole year will pass without us achieving anything due to lack of planning. Planning ahead of the year helps us know what to do at the right time.
However, we often say “New year, new me” without truly committing to the idea. I suggest that we take the time to clearly define our New Year’s resolutions and approach them practically.
For example, I want to gain admission into college this next year. Just believe it is doable; yes, you can do it! Stop procrastinating.
Now, let me walk you through this important point. Personally, whenever I am being hurt by somebody, the first thing I do is forgive the person, even if he or she did not ask for forgiveness. What motivates me to let go? The answer is that if I do not let go, I will be the one suffering the pain while the person who hurt me remains unaware of what I am experiencing. Keeping grudges drags you down, but it looks stylish, like carrying a luxury bag full of rocks.
Please, accept forgiveness and let go of the past—not for them, but for you. Release the burden of resentment and go into 2026 with a radiant smile and a lightened heart!
Okay, fine girl, fine boy, fine man, fine woman, well done, beautiful! In 2026, you can change six habits to become a more confident, attractive, and brighter version of yourself.
Just try and accept these adjustments and see how your year unfolds into an amazing display of development, joy, and unreserved grandeur. Cheers to being the best version of yourself!
Please, do not toy with your financial life! Avoid spending more than your income, as doing so will lead to numerous financial struggles. Also, know when to take financial education. Avoid taking loans for things you’re not sure will bring you profit. For your financial literacy, I suggest these books for you:
3. Digital Overload

Most of us are so addicted to our devices and social media that we forget our essence on earth. We forget personal development. Some of us even remain stagnant for years; please, try and find out if your device (s) or social media is consuming you negatively and do the right thing when it’s not too late.
What is digital overload?
Answer
Digital overload, also known as information overload, is the state of being overwhelmed by the sheer volume of digital information and constant connectivity we experience daily. It occurs when the amount of information and digital interactions we receive surpasses our ability to process them effectively, leading to negative impacts on our mental and physical well-being.
Except you feed from the screen; being on the screen for a long time without being productive is not the way to go. Is your phone providing you with income while you’re glued to it? If the answer is no, you need to wake up and start engaging yourself in something.
4. Neglecting Self-Care

What is self-care?
I believe it’s self-explanatory, but if you don’t understand, below is the definition.
Answer
In simple terms, neglecting self-care means failing to adequately attend to your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. The practice can involve various behaviors, including neglecting personal hygiene, not seeking necessary medical care, or prioritizing the needs of others to the point of personal detriment. It can lead to various negative consequences, such as burnout, stress, and even physical and mental health problems.
Most of you out there cannot give an account of your feeding schedule. Most of you go out eating junk here and there.
Your health? Yes, most of you cannot remember when last you visited the hospital for minor check ups; I understand we have been careless with ourselves, and we need to do better.
5. Clinging to Comfort Zones

In my observation, the term “comfort zone” is frequently used by individuals, particularly those in their 20s and 30s. Some people prefer comfort where they are, thereby avoiding trying new things.
What is a comfort zone?
Answer
A comfort zone can be defined as a psychological state where individuals feel safe, at ease, and in control, typically characterized by familiar routines, activities, and surroundings. While comfortable, staying within this zone can hinder personal growth and prevent trying new things. It’s a place where one experiences minimal stress and anxiety.
I understand some people find it enjoyable staying in a certain place for a long time. Then ask yourself this question: Is there any form of advancement in your life? If not, it’s time to move out and chase your dreams.
6. People-Pleasing

One thing you need to understand is that you cannot please humans! No matter what you do, humans cannot be satisfied. Prioritize yourself first; people have short-term memory.
If you’re putting on a short skirt, there are people that would wish you were putting on a long skirt. What am I trying to say? Do what makes you happy as long as it is constitutionally right.
What is people-pleasing?
Answer
To further throw more light, People-pleasing is a pattern of behavior where an individual prioritizes the needs and desires of others over their own, often at their expense. This behavior is driven by a desire to be liked and accepted and to avoid conflict, rejection, or disapproval. People-pleasers may struggle to say “no,” feel guilty when they do, and often agree to things they don’t want to do.
Be expressive! Go out and do that thing you want to do as long as it is constitutionally allowed. Cheers. 🥂
7. Overthinking

Overthinking does not solve problems; rather, it adds to your existing problems. When you encounter problems, find ways to properly fix them.
Go out with your usual day-to-day activities.
Act like nothing serious has happened.
What is overthinking?
I believe it’s self explanatory. Guy, I really want you to understand so there you go!
Answer
Overthinking is when your thoughts and worries circle in an endless loop. Instead of preparing you for next steps, overthinking usually leads to inaction because it causes you to become overwhelmed by fear. Overthinking can be a symptom of depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions.
8. Procrastination

Sometimes we have things that would better our lives, but we refuse to take action on time. You want to become a nurse, but you have been planning for years, with no action yet.
If there’s something you have been planning to achieve, after reading this, go for it; you will succeed.
Start that film school, start that relationship, start that job, start that family, start whatever you have in mind; the time is now!
What is procrastination?
Answer
For further clarity, procrastination is the act of delaying or putting off tasks until the last minute or past their deadline. It’s not just a time management problem. Researchers suggest that it’s a failure in self-regulation that leads us to act irrationally.
9. Toxic Comparison

Most times we are doing very well for ourselves without our knowledge. When you see your friend on social media displaying a certain lifestyle, you think you are not doing well. You don’t know if the person took a loan; what if the person robbed a bank? What if the person is needed by the police? You probably owe no one; you are okay!
What is a toxicity comparison?
Answer
Toxic comparison occurs when you compare yourself to others, resulting in negative emotions, low self-esteem, and feelings of inadequacy. It’s a harmful habit that can erode your mental well-being and create a cycle of self-doubt and anxiety. While comparison is a natural human behavior, toxic comparison becomes detrimental when it consistently triggers negative feelings and hinders personal growth.
Lastly,
Now,
You know what? It’s time to leave our shortcomings behind and enter 2026 with a dash of sass, style, and a hint of fabulousness. Let’s be hopeful in the coming year; it’s a year we will achieve all our set goals.
Then again, before we stride into the New Year, let’s talk about the things we’re leaving behind. I have discussed mine above; you can leave yours in the comment section.
I’m not talking about last season’s baggage; I’m talking about those annoying behaviors that have been around too long.
This isn’t the usual “New Year, New Me” speech. Oh no, honey, we are delving deeply into our issues and discarding those tedious old habits, similar to how one would throw away last year’s expired coupons.
We’re breaking free from the anxiety spiral of overthinking and the digital chains of screen addiction. We are more radiant than ever before.
So, get your feathers ready, put on your metaphorical high heels, and get ready to strut into the New Year with a lighter weight and a heart full of hopes.
Let’s make 2026 the year of you. You’ll be more fabulous, happier, and free of those behaviors that don’t deserve you. Let’s shine! Ready, Set! go!
